Who we are and what we do
What transpired was an unexpected mix of opportunity and investment with and beyond our role in Cru. We started co-leading two young adult small groups in our local Spartanburg church, Church at the Mill (CATM). Young couples sought us for premarital counseling. Post-graduates asked to be developed. Also, the need for young adults to know and articulate the Gospel to confront worldly ideologies and impact generations to come in a post-Christian culture was palpable.
Global Service Network is an answer to prayer! GSN provides a unique avenue of ministry for both Pete and Carra.
- For Pete, GSN enables him to continue sharing the Gospel with college students (by partnering with the Upstate Cru team) while providing him the flexibility to disciple young men beyond the campus and facilitate premarital counseling.
- For Carra, GSN enables her to focus on discipling young women, co-leading a small group Bible study, and conducting premarital counseling.
In these complex times, we are grateful the Lord has seen fit for us to work with GSN, where our ministry can pivot to disciple the next generation for a lifetime. We want every student and young adult to be grounded in their faith, and that's why our ministry is called Foundations for Life.
We are delighted to continue working in college ministry while also ministering beyond graduation. We seek to reach new students and help them develop solid foundations as they go into the workplace, into marriage and into parenthood. Christ-centered masculinity and femininity is the foundation for godly marriages, a lifetime of discipleship and Kingdom multiplication.
We are excited about this next chapter with GSN. We love this age group and they are both hungry for and in great need of Biblical, Christ-centered identity, value and purpose. We are grateful that this new venture takes our mission to college students and young adults and expands it into the "real world" with grace and truth.
